Dating After Relationship Trauma
After my last relationship ended around ten years ago, I felt a nudge that I needed to stay single and heal further from my abusive past. I clearly wasn’t as healed as I thought before entering that short-lived relationship, as it turned out that he also wasn't good for me.
My New Job Twelve Months On
It seems like I have now been here forever and at the same time, not long at all, which seems weird.
My anxiety was very high for the majority of the first eight months at my new job due to changing jobs as well as the ongoing pandemic. Fortunately, my anxiety has now lowered as I’ve been doing a lot of work on it, at work and at home.
Look What I’ve Been Up To
It’s understandable if you weren’t aware that I had a YouTube channel as until recently there were only three videos on there…
I have a new job!!!
In mid-January, I found out that the store I had worked in for the last fourteen years was having to close after the landlord wasn't willing to renegotiate a new lease from May this year. It was defiantly a shock to be told that news on a conference call with the rest of the store team and a few people from head office. As we were on furlough from work and not seeing each other daily, it took a few months for the news to sink in. There were initial hopes of reopening the store from April 12 for a closing down sale before closing down the store and sending the stock and anything else to the head office.
End of an Era
I’ve been mentioning the last few months about something going on with my job, that there’s some stress and anxiety being kicked up by things behind the scenes there. I now feel ready to let you all know what has been happening since January. On a Sunday in mid-January, the store team got notified to all be on a conference call the following day. On that call, we were told that after almost fourteen years the shop that I work at was being forced to close in May when the lease runs out. There were plans mentioned to hopefully be able to reopen and have a closing down sale before then closing down the store and sending the remaining stock and the fixtures most likely back to head office.
Update
It took me a bit longer than I'd hoped to post again because the readjustment of going back to work at the beginning of August was more difficult than I expected. A few staff went in the week before the shop reopened on August 10 to implement all the new COVID-19 guidelines, move the clothing stock so we could open with the summer season layout as we closed in spring, along with putting the summer sale on.
Happy Belated Second Blogaversary!
I realised this week while looking back through some of my previous posts on here, that I missed my second blogaversary! With all the crazy that's been going on the last few months especially, I guess it was understandable for it to slip my mind. I know I've not been very good at posting regularly for the majority of this year, and I actually can't remember the last time I did post before lockdown.
February Update
We are already into March! January dragged on for about a year and February lasted about a week! Did anyone else think that?
I've had an unintentional hiatus from posting, I don't know why other than I didn't seem like I had anything to write about. Here's a little update on a few things that have been going on.
Two Weeks Off Work
I got signed off work two weeks ago with tennis elbow. I'd been back to work for a week after using a week's holiday and then I get signed off for two weeks!! One week off work is okay as it's usually half rest and a half catching up with tasks around the house; doing those things I don't get a chance to do in a normal working week due to lack of time and energy. Like deep cleaning the bathroom and kitchen, and last year I was doing my de-cluttering as well.
