January Snow

We had some snow at the end of January. Now I'm aware some places get a lot more snow than we get here, but we have to take what we can get. It always looks so pretty, initially anyway. When we get snow, it tends to snow late at night and either be gone by the time we get up, gone by lunchtime or it's turned to a dirty and messy slush. That's why I like to get photo's of it as soon as I can.

I was out at about 7 am to take this which is why it's a bit dark and hence why I'm still in my pyjamas with some winter boots and my winter coat on over my dressing gown.

Once I was washed and dressed for the day, it was lighter out so I got better quality images. Here's evidence of some of my neighbours.

During the morning it started to snow again and although it wasn't sticking where the snow had already melted, it was big fluffy flakes!

Some of the snow hung around for a few days in areas where the sun didn't reach to melt it which meant it was quite slippy in some places. It was cold for a few nights so what was left froze and not all roads or pavements get gritted, especially the housing estates. The major roads or bus routes get done as does the city centre, so it's just a matter of carefully getting somewhere where it's been gritted or where it's melted.
