May, Myself and I; Salty

I'm not one for savoury snacks as I have a sweet tooth, my go-to flavour of crisps, however, are lightly salted.  I've been avoiding adding salt to my meals where possible so for example, if I have chips, then I don't add salt to them.

I'd heard good things about salt lamps for a while bit thought that they were maybe hyped up or that it wouldn't work for me.  They are alleged to have many health properties including;

Promote better sleep due to their relaxing properties

Reduce stress and anxiety due to them producing serotonin

Purify the air

Reduce allergy symptoms

Alleviate asthma

And they can improve energy levels and focus

I finally bought one last year sometime and put it in my room, by my bed. I'm not sure how much it's working for me as I'm not recording any differences since I got it.  I do like the glow it gives off though and it's the first light I switch on in the morning when I wake up and in the evening as I'm getting ready for bed.  I've never been one for overhead lights and much prefer lamps because they're not as harsh.  As it's in my bedroom I have been thinking about getting another for the living room where I spend a few hours every evening.

I have the salt lamp on for a couple of hours in the morning while I'm waking up and getting ready for my day.  I use it as a relaxing light source and if it helps my stress, anxiety, my sleeping issues, my energy levels and to focus well then they're all a bonus.
