Blurt Self Careathon Day 4

Snuggle

I know I am behind with the Blurt Self Careathon. Information for this you will see on their Twitter feed if you either scroll down their content or click on the photos and video's link and scroll until you see a post with #blurtselfcareathon. I am aware that one of the reasons I am behind with these prompts is because I started it late. I would like to catch up sooner rather than later so that may mean two posts a day on occasion for the next week or so, so I hope you don't mind that.

So, onto the prompt of this post; snuggles. In lieu of a snuggle buddy, I have to make my own snuggles. That means, comfy clothes, sometimes getting in my PJ's when I get in from work, a blanket on the sofa; especially during the colder months, hunkering down under my duvet to sleep or have a lie in some mornings.

As I am sitting here and typing this, I am sat in some of my comfy clothes which today includes a cosy Rab Boulder Hoodie, which it looks like they have stopped making!!! *shocked face* Although mine is in the aubergine colour.

If I had pets, that were of the snuggle variety, I'd snuggle with them, alas I don't. Therefore I have to make my own snuggles. I even have a couple of night time snuggle buddies when I need them.

I may have said it already, but self-care is about listening to what you need and acting upon it, as long as it's safe and legal. It takes time and trial and error to work out what you need and when. As you heal your needs will change, they ebb and flow and you may very well find that something you needed early on along your self-care journey, you may suddenly need a few years down the line so you go looking in your self-care toolbox and then you find it! Huzzah!! The dust may need to be blown off and it might need a clean, but you will remember how to use it as soon as you find it.
