Blurt Self Careathon Day 11
Encourage
Your friends, family and work colleagues will encourage you but at the end of the day, it's you that has to do the work. You have to be your own best cheerleader and encourage yourself the most. The things you tell your self inside your head have to be encouraging and positive as much as possible. I know it's not always easy and some days are much more difficult than others. So just do your best and don't beat yourself up when something doesn't work out the way you hoped.
Reward your self for jobs well done, milestones met and for accomplishing difficult tasks. Small rewards like CDs, DVDs, a visit to the cinema, a book or clothes. Larger rewards for bigger accomplishments could be technology, like a new MP3, camera, phone (if you're not on a contract that is.) I'm sure you get the idea.
Some of the way's I've rewarded myself in the past include; books, CDs, DVDs, an iPod, a Kindle Fire, a Polaroid Zip Printer, lunch in a local cafe, a slice of cake...
You may need to write out positive phrases and words of encouragement to remind you when things are dark and you're struggling. Write them on post-it's and stick them around your home where you can see them. Also write a list of suggested rewards, the bigger the task accomplished, the bigger the reward.
