I'd Like To Thank ...

I can't remember when I last won something. I remember winning a huge stuffed toy rabbit when I was younger, that thing was almost as tall as me at around four foot I think it was.  I won it in a raffle at my Grandma's church.

A couple of months ago at work, the manager told me that he was nominating me for the company's first-ever employee of the Month for our store.  We had no idea what would happen if anything with it being the trial one and I forgot all about it over the next few weeks, until last month when he told me I had won the employee of the Month for the North West region! OMG!!!  That area covers stores from North Wales, Chester, Manchester, Liverpool and all the way up to the south of the Lakes District!

We've no idea if I get a certificate or anything, even if it's emailed and we need to print it out ourselves.  I may very well rig one up myself on Publisher at work; the manager said he's okay with me doing that.

As of my writing this (May 9th) I have worked for the company for 11 years today and have seen lots of changes over that time, and if this one sticks around it will be a nice addition.  The award was decided at the regional level by the Area Manager and maybe also the Area Visual Merchandiser.  I know they were both impressed with my work in the store this season for the new season launch as well as my creating a store Instagram page as well as overseeing the store's Twitter and Facebook pages also.  I even created in-store posters to help promote our social media to customers.

At the recent manager's summit, one of the Belfast manager's mentioned to my manager how my social media for our store was really good, how I'm not posting too much (I try to post something on Instagram and Twitter most days and Facebook a few times a week) and I post about a variety of subjects, from new offers to key items of kit and new stock coming in as well as things going on around within the local community.

I need to check with my manager to see if he's heard an update or if he can find out what's happening with it all if anything.  I'm back at work tomorrow so I will ask him then.  As soon as I know anymore I shall let you all know.
