Happy Blogaversary!

I have a bonus post for you all this week!  I'm not sure if I've mentioned it on here, or if it's just something I thought, but I had intended on posting two blogs a week this year, but as that's not been happening lately I think that I will definitely do one on a Sunday with the option of doing another in the week if I manage to write it up, find the relevant photos and schedule it to go up.

On April 9th 2018 I created this very blog [originally on Blogger], and the next day I posted my very first post on here.  The post was called 'Blurt's Self Careathon Day One' which was the Blurt Foundation's self-care prompts for the month of April last year.  I decided to write blog posts for them and I managed to complete all the prompts by writing a few up on a day off and scheduling them to go up on the designated days.  I was a few days late to the party, but it was a very beneficial thing to do to get me into the habit of posting content, and also thinking about possible future content as well.

I'd had a Live Journal account for many years as a friends-only blog, but hadn't posted in ages as I didn't have many readers or friends as they call the followers of your Live Journal.  I've had it for many many years and I just think that I outgrew it.  I had been thinking for a while on and off about a public blog where I write about my life, my mental health and whatever else strikes my fancy.

So last year I finally did it!  That very first post for the initial prompt which was 'Ten Things About Me', has now had eight views.  The posts for Blurt's Self Careathon have been quite popular with posts getting between three and fourteen views.

My most popular posts so far are;

- Bad days from May 2018 with twenty-one views,

- Self Care Tips from July 2018 with seventeen views and

- Bravery which was day 23 from the Self Careathon with fourteen views.

It looks like the most popular posts are where I talk about my mental health and things that I do to help myself.  I know this is a very popular topic at the moment with many people talking more about their own struggles with depression, anxiety PTSD and so on.

It's been an amazing year on this blog and I've really enjoyed coming up with ideas of things to write about, posting the content and finding photos from my vast collection to use in the posts. At the beginning of this year, I brainstormed possible blog post ideas for each month, some of which have come into being and others are still waiting. Those that I haven't written will be there for another day, which means at the moment I have an ongoing list of future blog posts.
